Hello, everyone! I'm very proud to announce that #AOSGUI v0.9 is now available!

AOS-GUI is a graphical shell written in #python that runs on top of your host operating system. There's not really a reason you'd WANT to do this, but I thought it would be fun to make nonetheless :D

Some new features in this release include...

- a much better script editor
- terminal improvements (including more color feedback and commands)
- camel package manager class in the SDK
- less bugs! (I hope...)

Head on over to https://github.com/AOS-GUI/AOS-GUI/releases/latest for the latest version if you're interested!

For the two people wondering about how my projects are going so far:

Overflow (#playdate): Currently taking a break but development will continue soon ;)

#AOSGUI: Brushing up some stuff, slowly but surely! I’m also adding a bunch of new apps to camelInstall this update, so I’m working on those mainly.

CS-16: Working on implementing some changes for someone who submitted a feature request. Right now I’m trying to pull off a sample waveform view, and can’t for the life of me figure it out haha

Also, me and a few of my friends started the trisagion media group (website at https://trisagion-media.github.io if you’re interested)! At the moment we’re creating a podcast, which doesn’t have an ETA yet. Stay tuned if you care, I’ll probably post something about it when it goes live :P

(Icons are not final, but the important thing here is that I figured out how to do it lol)

Should I keep dynamic syntax highlighting in the #AOSGUI editor? (Only keywords [if, elif, import, etc.] are dynamic) (Image in replies)

Oh shoot, it’s getting real… 😆

I actually really like the look of Bliss, so maybe it’ll be my wallpaper for a while! (Massive props to Charles O’Rear, what a killer photo!)

(sorry, I know this is like my fifth post today, I'll quit now 😅️)

Working on an #AOSGUI mastodon client! At the moment it's very basic, but you can view the plaintext of toots and compose toots!

So I was working on #AOSGUI this morning, trying to figure out why nanoweb (it’s a web browser) wasn’t displaying web pages. At some point I gave up trying to fix it myself
and consulted StackOverflow.

The line “app = QApplication([])” had to be changed to “app = QApplication([‘’, ‘—no-sandbox’])”.

Dude, how does ANYONE figure this stuff out?? And how do you expect anyone to code without the internet nowadays?? 😆

Apparently I should do an #introduction post, so here we are!

I’m nanobot567, a #programmer and #musician! I’m a massive #linux fan and a #retrocomputing enthusiast (even though I don’t own any). I make apps for the #playdate console, such as the music player “musik”, and I created a shell in #python called #AOSGUI.

In case you want to check out some of my stuff, I’m on #GitHub and #Spotify under the same handle (nanobot567). (Warning for my Spotify account, all of the songs on there are incredibly cringe XD)

Been having fun on Mastodon so far! Hoping to make some more friends here in the future :)
