So yesterday I opened up the #Steam Workshop for my game #AFKShift, and almost immediately strange things started happening.

The two workshop items I put in there to start things off got more subscriptions than my game has owners, and they started getting contentless comments from random people. Like random numbers, single words in cyrillic, and an entire thread of just "hi" messages!

Is this some meme? Or does anyone know what could be going on?

It's been a bit of a mental grind to get here, given the resounding (though tbh entirely predictable, and predicted!) unsuccess of #AFKShift, but today I released a new version of the game with Steam Workshop support - both in the game, and for one-click sharing from within the editor!

Steam requires at least one bit of free content before opening the workshop, so I made a scene just for this purpose - "Deserted Workshop" 🀭

Just two days away from the Steam release of #AFKShift, so don't have any fancy new content to show for this #ScreenshotSaturday. Instead, this week I ported and updated an old tool I created for a previous game, Bag of Looting. The tool provides an overlay visualising the flows of keyboard focus between Control nodes!

It can visualise "next" (the leeks), "previous" (the rhubarb), and directional navigation (the skies).

Back to my regular routine of posting #ScreenshotSaturday a day late!

My excuse this week is that I got a little distracted relearning #Blender for the umpteenth time, to fix the UVs of a low-poly chess set that I wanted to retexture for an #AFKShift anomaly! (Spoilers!)

This week I finally built out the last room for #AFKShift's full release - the yard!

It's been a bit of a motivational slog for me, getting though building these rooms. I've definitely got a better appreciation for why many devs, myself included, are so drawn to procedural generation!

Next up are the anomalies for these rooms, which are a lot more fun to make!
