It was little late last night to watch Star Wars 4K77 after the last 3 episodes of #Andor and Rogue One so I watched it tonight

The 4K77 restoration is the only way to go

I may go with 4K80 tomorrow night

I've finally got a download of the 4K77 version of Star Wars on the go, I've been meaning to do this for ages. I'm only downloading the 1080p version as it takes up less space and, well, I don't have any 4K screens anyway! I'm looking forward to seeing how it looks.

I've been watching the #4k77 restoration of #StarWars this afternoon and it looks a *lot* better than I expected it to.

I wasn’t exactly expecting it to look *bad*, but given George's desire to upgrade it so much over the years I was expecting pretty shonky FX in places. Turns out I wasn't remembering it with rose-tinted glasses: it really is as good as when I first saw it 40+ years ago.

I think I prefer it to Harmy’s #Despecialized Edition, tbh

I may sometimes poke fun at Star Wars, but I'm still quite a fan. And there's no denying the cultural impact the movies have had. I just got ahold of the #4k77 version of the original star wars theatrical release and .. well .. just wow. The sheer amount of work that must have gone into that is inspiring and a true act of fandom.

I tracked down the #4k77 project and downloaded all 3 original Star Wars movies in (close to) their original versions. For example, this version of Star Wars does not have "episode iv - a new hope" in the crawl. Of course, Han shoots first.

I hate being stuck at home, but it's nice to finally do these "I'll get around to that someday" kind of things.
