🗳️ Today the Spanish Football Federation is electing a new president for the next four years. Rafael Louzán and Salva Gomar are the two candidates.

Spain is co-hosting the #2030WorldCup, but its federation still faces the fallout from disgraced former president Luis #Rubiales, who resigned after being disqualified by FIFA for his kiss to Jenni Hermoso and corruption charges.

Rubiales' successor, Pedro Rocha, was also barred from office for exceeding his powers.

Spain faced pressure to complete the election process before the end of 2024, after FIFA and UEFA warned that the lack of stability and harmony within the federation could jeopardize their right to host the World Cup.
