We’ve been building something different.

Private communication without tracking, metadata collection, or centralized servers.

Soon, Zerion will introduce fully anonymous channels inside the app. No metadata. No hidden analytics. No servers.

Built by a small independent team focused on real privacy.

Private messenger over Tor. No phone number. No servers. No tracking.

@euroalternative zerion.chat

@q0xyz Both are good FOSS messengers. The architectural delta:

SimpleX = client + relay servers (SMP).
Disposable, self-hostable, but
there is a server layer. Default routing is "private message routing
(2-hop SMP). PQ in the Double Ratchet (every step). Public channels
landed in v6.5.

Zerion = no servers at all. Every contact, message, voice call rides directly on a Tor v3 hidden service. Hybrid Ed25519 +
ML-DSA-65 identity. ML-KEM-768 in the ratchet.

Different tradeoffs, same goal.

@Nerdwolf You can check the code on GitHub yourself and audit it yourself. Zerion Messenger is separate from Zerion Wallet; whoever believes in it uses it in due time, and we will grow.

On github you will not find any claude commit or tag.

@Nerdwolf Several developers have worked on this project, but developers stay anonymous. claude has only been used for audits and code review, which many developers do.

Have a own repo same as Molly.im and zerion also on play store.

Zerion goes further than the encrypted messengers:

— No phone number required (ever)
— No central server (none, not "end-to-end with a relay")
— Tor-only by default — every connection is anonymous at the network layer
— Hybrid post-quantum signatures already shipped (Ed25519 + ML-DSA-65)

Open source, free, on F-Droid.
