Professional computer toucher. I spend a lot of time thinking about privacy, security, reliability, and decentralization - both in cyberspace and meatspace.

My posts mostly contain random thoughts or observations but I’m likely to mention:

- #OpenBSD or #FreeBSD or #BSD
- #Rust programming, #Golang programming
- #Linux
- #cooking
- #FLOSS
- #reading, #SciFi, #Fantasy, #History

@katrinatransfem @foone - oddly enough, Hyper-V is the only hypervisor I haven’t had trouble with. Actually, I also haven’t had issues with OpenBSD’s but it was more tedious.
So far, my favorite match of the Kyushu Basho #sumo has been Hoshoryu v Midorifuji from day 5: https://youtu.be/FXqkxZIVoIc

I really need to sit down and properly write an ansible… cookbook(?) for some OpenBSD servers. There’s 10 of them and I literally run the same commands on them periodically lol.
@RetweetableN14 @thegibson - But won’t you think of the platforms?! 😢

The good work is done quietly. And it is done slowly.

What is loud is because they need you to pay attention to them. It must be flashy. It must be now.

But when you get away from the noise and feel the calm, you'll find a garden. It has long been tended by gardeners. The beauty comes from growth that takes time, and patient maintenance.

You won't always see the gardener, and maybe not even see their efforts, which just further belies their mastery.

The gardener has done this because of the inherent beauty and the betterment of the world.

Community, these are things that will build up around this work, another garden.

Participation and use is the only expectation of you.

But no one will complain if you want to get your hands dirty alongside them.

After three days of watching #sumo, Wakatakakage and Tobizaru are quickly becoming my favorite Rikishi to watch. I like the throws and speed they display versus the brute strength of some other Rikishi. That’s not to diminish the others, I just really like leverage.
@mike I’m just getting back into #sumo. Just in time for November basho!
@pamela there are no sidekiq gods. That way lies only pain and sadness. Oh and it’s deprecated.
