It never was about abortion

Good morning. 🕊️🕊️🕊️

1 June 2025

I often call Charlie 'Charlie McGee' or some other variation, in tribute to his Scottish heritage. He's a border collie, after all. Of course, he's completely unaware of all that—except for the 'Charlie' part; he knows his name. When we're out in the yard and he wanders off, all I have to do is call, 'Charlie!' and he comes running around the corner. He’s every bit a working dog, always accompanying me when there’s yard work to do. Though his role is more supervisory—lounging in the shade while I cut the grass or, as I like to say in French, 'mow-de-lawn'—a classic grandpa joke. He does his part well. When he first arrived at our home, he spent much of his time trying to herd us around—must be in his genes.

"My fashion philosophy is if you’re not covered in dog hair, your life is empty." — Elayne Boosler

@TheJen @noondlyt But, think of the poor worms. They still have to eat and raise their families.
@ai6yr I had a Varsity for about 15 years. I gradually replaced every part on it with something better, including the frame (Letour). It was the bicycle of theseus.

@ai6yr Was that the Varsity with the one-piece crank?
@ai6yr When you reinstall the cup (with freshly greased bearings), you need to get it just right. There must be zero play (it has to be snug) but freely turning (no binding).
@ai6yr You could probably break the lock ring loose with a pair of channel lock pliers. Once you have that loose, the bearing cup an be turned out by hand. There is a special tool for the bearing cup, but its main purpose is to hold the cup in place while you reef down the lock ring.
@ShredderFeeder WWII was not all *that* long ago – modern Nazis should be treated as we did with them all back then. Self-defense, and all.
@HamonWry He may claim to be a stable genius, but I need to hear what the other horses think about that.
