Val and Faith kick off the show with their bike moments and collectively appreciate the recent shift to autumn. We chat about the recent death of two teenagers in Queensland on an 'e-bike', although its hard to know much about the circumstances at this point. We also remind listeners that the Elizabeth Street protected bike lanes are being ripped up this morning ahead of the re-sheeting of the road and the rebuilding of the lanes in a narrower, less safe configuration. When will the State Government take responsibility for Strategic Cycling Corridors?

Elizabeth Street, Richmond update: Yarra Council rips up bike lanes – “Road Safety” Minister lets it happen. Strategic Cycling Network Design Guidelines ignored!

If you're in City of Yarra make sure your councilors know that you support this.

It definitely looks like it could easily be derailed by a fight about a small amount of parking.

Works to narrow the Elizabeth St Bike lanes in Richmond are starting on Monday 16th March.

Sadly I'm sure this will be a surprise to a bunch of people that use this route and haven't engaged.

This route is used by 1000 people on bikes every day.

The bike lane is being narrowed from 2.1m to 1.5m but that 1.5m includes the unrideable gutter.
