Ever built something intricate and unique, only to have it snatched away from you and put in the hands of philistines? It's not a good feeling.

I felt that Microsoft Copilot, formerly known as Office, could use a mascot. So I asked Copilot to design something in the spirit of Clippy.

Let me introduce you to Sloppy, a cheerful slightly gooey assistant with glasses and a headset.

@jaeger And here I am, still hoping you’ll go for the red corvette and using it to drive to intensive Buddhist retreats which preach non-attachment to materialism. 🤣

@obsidian any chance we’ll someday be able to specify that a note is plain text and not markdown? I would LOVE that feature!

Copy/pasting from my other notes app which is plaintext, messed up a bunch of my notes.

They're just ordinary Americans, which is the scariest thing I can think of.

“He spent a lot of time flying. He learnt to communicate with birds and discovered that their conversation was fantastically boring. It was all to do with wind speed, wing spans, power-to-weight ratios and a fair bit about berries. Unfortunately, he discovered, once you have learnt birdspeak you quickly come to realize that the air is full of it the whole time, just inane bird chatter. There is no getting away from it.”

@jaeger You may be joking, but we’ve proved that crows have self awareness and pass concepts from generation to generation. They may not be talking about super sophisticated topics, but it is way more complex than seagulls. 😉

@jaeger just think: someday I’ll have a universal translator and your smart glasses will show you subtitles of what they’re saying
