Today, Slackware Linux is 32 years old. As such, I love Slackware in all of 4,294,967,295 ways.
@volkerdi Thank you for everything you have done for the Linux world, and thanks to everyone who has helped contribute along the way. Without you, Linux would not nearly be the awesome ecosystem we know today. Here's to many more years of Slackware.
Thank you for everything, Patrick :-)
In other analog news, sometimes you take a photo out of your window, and it becomes historically interesting 60+ years later. That’s the short version.
The long version is this. I follow @igorurbanist on instagram. His channel documents the architectural evolution in #Belarus, often juxtaposing historical images with a modern view of the same location.
Today he posted a photo circa 1965, that features a glimpse of a tram that used to run along Myasnikova Street in #Minsk. The caption informs the reader that the last tram ran on that street in 1967 (don’t worry, there’s another tram, today No. 4, running just around the corner and a whole metro stop down the block, for my pro-transit fan friends).

Fediverse admins, especially Mastodon admins,
Scam messages trying to trick users into "verifying" by giving their credit card details are still spreading on the Fediverse. The people behind them pretend to be Mastodon admins and use admin-like profile images.
You might want to warn your server's members that this is going on, and that they should never ever give their card details.
More info about the scam (including a screenshot) at https://social.growyourown.services/@FediTips/114836903383114603
Attached: 1 image ⚠️ If you see a post or DM saying "your account is currently suspended for verification purposes", do NOT click on the link. It is a scam. Fediverse servers do not ask people to verify their identity. There is an optional self-verification system, but that's just for those who want to use it. No one is ever asked to do it. If you are in ANY doubt about ANY official-looking message, contact your own server's admin directly using their public email address on your server's website's "About" page.
