is counselling useful beyond retirement?

Is counselling of benefit to those who have reached retirement age and beyond? If so, in what ways?

February is #LGBTQ+ History Month and this year's theme is Medicine - Under The Scope. Much LGBTQ+ History is hidden because of the times people lived in. I've often spoken with people about this, most recently during a meeting with my local museum to discuss inclusion and representation in their displays, where I referred to one of my favourite life stories, that of Dr James Barry. #trans #LGBTQHistoryMonth

The #blackdog was first used by Samuel Johnson, inventor of the English Dictionary, to describe his own experiences with #depression. #WinstonChurchill popularised it centuries later, by referring to his own depression as a black dog that followed him around. #mentalhealth #counselling #therapy #counseling #mentalwellbeing

why is a black dog a symbol of depression? - xph therapy

The metaphor of a black dog is often used to describe depression. The black dog is out of its kennel; the black dog is barking, or growling.

The story of how Modality has, through intransigence, incompetency and repeated lies at its Cross Hills practice, caused a vulnerable person with multiple disabilities great and ongoing harm and suffering, including risk to life. my life, my body, my mind, my gender

I was recently asked (not for the first or last time), what does nonbinary mean as a gender? There isn't a one size fits all answer.

what an integrative therapist is

Being integrative means combining separate things but doesn't mean an integrative therapist will sit you down and tell you to pull yourself together.

Trans Heritage Community Project is working with Bradford District Museums & Galleries to consult with the local trans community to get insights into how to make creative spaces more welcoming to trans people. Please consider filling in their short survey.

Trans Community Heritage Project - Bradford District Museums & Galleries

This survey is part of a project to help develop understandings of how and if the local trans community currently engage with Bradford's cultural spaces (particularly museums and galleries), and explore how these spaces can be made more inclusive and represent trans identity. This project is run by a trans practitioner to amplify trans perspectives. None of the questions are mandatory to answer - this survey is an opportunity for you to share as much or as little as you feel comfortable. All responses are valued - if you have no experience of visiting museums, let us know. We would love to know why and how we can become more welcoming and appealing environments. If you are interested in getting involved with the project further, or participate in future projects with Bradford District Museum & Galleries, please leave your email in the box at the end and if possible let us know in what ways you would like to get involved. If you have any further questions or want to reach out please email [email protected] Thanks so much to anyone who takes the time to fill out this survey :)
