It’s not complicated: Elon can do whatever he wants with Twitter, just as Twitter could do what it wanted pre-Elon.

Then, Twitter wanted to build a space aimed at inclusivity and avoided disinformation. Musk wants to build something different. https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/2022/12/16/elon-musk-twitter-trump/?itid=ap_philipbump

The debate over speech on Twitter is as uncomplicated as it is unhinged

Sure, Elon Musk can do what he wants. That was always the case. The issue is what business he's building — and how it fits into political narratives.

The #StochasticTerrorism in Colorado Springs, Uvalde, Buffalo, Highland Park and so many other communities is the goal.

Until we stop the psychological war machine radicalizing our citizens it’s going to get worse. Much worse.

All of us need to stand by our fellow citizens in the LGBTQ+ community and be the best allies we can be. #NotOnOurWatch 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️

Honestly the kind of chaotic energy I aspire to. Hbomberguy is like some kind of trickster spirit.

An Incredible Day In Internet History

It started with the Twitter lockout. 10,000 new users per hour. A QUARTER MILLION people migrated to Mastodon in one day. The servers struggled. Remarkably, admins all over the world built up capacity in real time. New users were patient. The system held.

It's running better now. There will be more hard days ahead, but people powered social media has arrived.

I’m feeling concerned that many of us have recently joined #Mastodon and that the long term visually impaired community are now inundated with beautiful photos with no #alttext to describe the photo. Only about 1 in 5 Toots describe photos on my timeline. We all need to curb our enthusiasm to share undescribed photos and embrace our descriptive writing. I’m not on my high horse just concerned that we’ve arrived en masse and need to do our very best to embrace #MastodonCulture.

A few weeks ago the Dartmoor Trust Photo archive put out a call on Twitter to identify the location of a photo of #Dartmoor taken in the 1920s.

A few of us identified it as Bonehill Rocks.

Was passing by today so thought it would be interesting to try and grab a photo from the same spot.
