@XanIndigo It makes so much sense to a German ear, tho! „Toot“ reminds a German speaker of the verb „tuten," to blast, bellow, blow or sound a horn.

Primarily, it’s an onomatopoeia - A trumpet or elephant will toot, and one can “toot one’s own horn” to positively speak of one’s own accomplishment.
However, when _I_ think of “toot”, there’s a childish rhyme that comes to mind and yes, I know it’s childish and factually incorrect, but we are here nonetheless:
Beans are the musical fruit
The more you eat, the more you toot.
The more your toot, the better you feel.
Beans, beans for every meal.
