Cold Weather Advisory? The National Weather Service is no longer using Wind Chill Advisories and Warnings. Instead, NWS is now issuing two new alerts: "Cold Weather Advisory" & "Extreme Cold Weather Warning." This change was made because extreme cold is dangerous regardless of wind conditions. We may approach Cold Weather Advisory criteria Wed night into Thurs, as wind chills could drop into the -20s. A Cold Weather Advisory is issued for southern WI when temps or wind chill reach -25°F. #wiwx

It may not seem like it because we are STILL several inches above normal for yearly precipitation, but the recent dry conditions have led to severe drought conditions across much of the Midwest.
