surrounding myself with folks who ALSO love speculating and mentally rotating ideas around is such fun!

no more "it's not that deep".

what if it IS? what if it COULD BE?

i love having friends who intellectually stimulate me

trying to find hookups as a rural butch lesbian bottom is a trick and a half

"rural" means options are limited to begin with

the specific combo of "butch" + "bottom" is killer though; social norms dictate that the masculine partner is the penetrating party

i do not want to do that; i would like that done to me, haha. in fact, if it were up to me, i'd be absolutely railed at LEAST twice a month

might have to wait until i move for that tho

post-secondary education tip: check if your college or university offers free counseling to its students

mine does; i actually tried it for the first time and met a counselor i enjoy seeing!

if it doesn't work out, you're no worse off than where you started

@aisling

100% yeah; the hypervigilance to stay safe takes a big toll on the body and mind, and leaves a lasting impact after one has left the environment that caused it

additionally, sometimes the trauma is "what did you NEED to happen, but didn't?"

even in the absence of danger altogether, trauma can still be caused in the form of one's needs going chronically unmet (i.e. another form of "nothing happened")

it's been such a paradigm shift to go from "i try new things to get good" to "i try new things because those are experiences i want to have"

it changed my mentality from "having lots of skills makes up for my existence" to "i am worthy of a rich and fulfilling life, and capable of tolerating discomfort"

skill acquisition went from something i did to make up for my existence (aka please others) to something i do for myself bc i enjoy it
