@steipete @not3ottersinacoat if I had a principled stance that it would be bad for a certain company to have control over a technology I had demonstrated expertise in, I would not become an employee of that company 3 weeks later
@c_cube @carnage4life The intended purpose of the companies developing this technology is to further the immiseration, disenfranchisement, and subjugation of the labour class. Calling this one Dobby is just accidentally saying the quiet part out loud. The fact that they look at something that they believe will replace employees, and treat it as a slave, should tell you everything you need to know: they already see us as slaves.

@steipete @not3ottersinacoat if these billionaire psychos whose efforts you are legitimising get their way and successfully automate away the need for most jobs, the economy will collapse and countless people will die. If it doesn’t work, the economy will collapse anyway when all the AI investments are revealed to not be worth it, and many people will still die. But you’re having fun so it’s ok.

If I’m wrong, tell me how I’m wrong.

@steipete @not3ottersinacoat “I was just following orders” vibes tbh.

Gleefully participating in an exercise to destroy the global economy and cause the deaths of untold millions of innocent people, but how dare anyone criticise you for having fun?

@tyger @siracusa this is only the second time I’ve ever seen this word used, the first being here: https://themountaingoats.bandcamp.com/album/aquarium-drunkards-lagniappe-session

@dfgomes @markgurman if bribing fascists had recently become acceptable to my company’s culture, I wouldn’t value working there either
@rmondello @danirabbit real homies don’t donate more of the labour share of income to capital. real homies know investing involves risk, and don’t guilt their friends into privatising the gains and socialising the losses.
@twostraws “You had one job!”
