Downloaded Little Snitch to get a better look at my outgoing traffic and maybe manage it more carefully, only to discover Adobe has 5–10 processes constantly pinging servers every 2–3 seconds, even when every Adobe app appears to be closed.

After Apple shared initial local inference benchmarks (M4 vs M5, moderate RAM) on their Machine Learning blog, there are now real-world reports of M5 Macs with 64–128GB running much larger models.

Hopefully, local inference is moving from “barely works” to “actually usable”.

18 years ago today I released MindNode. I was so anxious I was checking my email on WAP (basically the ancient version of mobile internet) whenever I left the house, just in case something broke. 😊

It didn't. And somehow, 18 years later, MindNode is still here and supporting a small independent team without outside funding, still shaped by the people who use it every day.

Thank you for 18 years. 🎉

Will be interesting to see where agent-aided engineering takes us:
More native apps as porting friction drops or even more web/cross-platform apps because that’s where the training data is strongest?
