A dad in DC that likes bollards.
Once our society (horrifyingly) resembles something more like feudalism, and the former power of capitalism is diminished and decentralized, then there’s a chance to start to build a better world free of capitalism and exploitation.

The good news is that I still think communism will win. The bad news is that I think we’re due for a catastrophic societal collapse in the west first. Capitalism’s death grip on everything is just too strong. It can only be destroyed by its own doing.

I regretfully have come to the theory that maybe Marx was wrong about socialism following capitalism. No true socialist society has emerged from capitalism, but plenty have emerged from feudalism and/or colonization. #socialism
I think I found the culprit: my straw has seeds in it and is sprouting??
Had to go out and buy some marigolds even though I’m working on some from seed. The squirrels are going fucking HAM in my empty bed of dirt. We’ll if this and some cayenne powder helps at all.

The Elon/NPR spat is like exhibit 4,392 in “why you can’t have a right-wing-only social network.” The right needs victims it can threaten and harass online; those don’t exist on TruthSocial or Parler, and in dwindling numbers on Twitter. Without them, there’s nothing to motivate most right-wing accounts. Same dynamic explains why #SCOTUS and the rest of the judiciary is an especially appealing battleground for conservatives—they get to victimize the liberal-ish legal profession over and over
