There used to be a page on https://echolink.org that showed you how to do this for just about every router on the market but I can't find it.

Jeff KC9UNZI was recently talking to a rather survivalist minded friend. I suggested he study and get a #hamradio license. We could communicate without wires (he is about 1200 miles away). He said if society broke down there would be no need for a license. I agreed that may be true, but, having a license and being involved with the #hamradio community BEFORE society broke down would help him learn how to communicate when he needed it, otherwise his radio is just an expensive boat anchor.
