The Welsh Government has announced new payment rates for the ‘Habitat Wales’ scheme this week. We’re very concerned to see them substantially lower than before.

It's supposed to incentivise nature-friendly practices; this gives entirely the wrong message.

How are farmers supposed to be reassured of their business practices, if the money keeps fluctuating and they have no idea how much they'll actually end up receiving?
