News outlets can encourage journalists to move to Mastodon for now. (They could create their own instances for staff, too.)
Long-term, they can avoid posting content on a site owned by a rich guy who openly loathes journalism.
NPR issues internal guidance on Twitter: don't advertise your handle, but don't delete it because someone could take it and impersonate you.
Mastodon has more moderators than Twitter. Let that sink in. 🔥

It just occurred to me that across the 4,000 #Mastodon servers each with their #MastoAdmin plus their moderator teams... we have more content moderators tracking reports and complaints than Twitter does. For the folks who keep asking about how we're going to scale, we're on it. #CommunityNotContent
