Found an old cartoon made by me in 2012 explaining the sorry state of the scholarly publishing market. Not much has changed. Or, maybe I should add a panel with an AI-bot stealing the papers from his desk while muttering "Thank you!".

Uh-oh, looks like #Samsung is locking down their #Android phones by removing the option to unlock the bootloader starting withe #OneUI8, effectively killing CustomROM (such as #LineageOS) support: https://www.sammobile.com/news/say-goodbye-to-your-custom-roms-as-one-ui-8-kills-bootloader-unlock/

Looks like to be a worldwide change: https://winfuture.de/news,152535.html (German)

Diesen Aufruf sollte man ernst nehmen.

How reliable are citation metrics? According to Google Scholar, our 2025 paper "A Retrospective on Mining Version Histories to Guide Software Changes" (https://ieeexplore.ieee.org/abstract/document/10854513) has had its first citation in 1974 – 50 years BEFORE publication: https://scholar.google.com/scholar?oi=bibs&cites=8287062440204854026
Oh, and a 2020 paper of mine, "Debugging inputs" apparently has been cited 11,457 times: https://scholar.google.com/scholar?q=%22debugging+inputs%22 Title says it all 😉
@AndreasZeller well, after everything else you've built, a time machine isn't _completely_ implausible

@gvwilson @AndreasZeller
given recent events, you should make sure you have not plagiarized a paper that will be written in 2075.
@AndreasZeller but I'm sure AI will solve all these clearly wrong citations... by hallucinating a better year
@AndreasZeller That’s real impact. People start citing you, 50 years before you actually publish the results. They knew that you’ll provide relevant work for them, before you even knew it yourself 😉
