Not just as a symbol of solidarity, but as a tribute to those who have lost their lives, and a call to redouble our efforts towards a just and lasting peace.
Europe's shared values, strength, and commitment will never waver.
We must assume that Europe is becoming the world's last democratic major hub. Imperfect, perhaps, but democratic.
As such, Europe is the prime target of the new American administration.
Everything this administration will do will be aimed at harming us.
Washington's primary objective is now to hamper Europe's ability to exert a counter-power, even if it means joining forces with the worst tyrants.
We still have allies in the United States, but not within the administration.

We would do well to remember the names of the pilots who died.
They fought for over an hour with a mortally wounded plane to get it as good as possible to the ground.
They had now yaw, no rudder, no ailerons, no flaps, only the power level of the engine as means of control.
Air Traffic Control denied them the use of the closest airports and sent them to cross a sea.
What they have shown is courage in the face of insurmountable odds. They knew exactly what their chances were. Their airmanship was on the highest possible level.
Their names are Igor Kshnyakin and Aleksandr Kalyaninov.
To the media: please don’t give any airtime to the obviously disinformation spreading speaker of the Kremlin and report about those who saved 29 lives.

German cycling activist Andreas Mandalka aka #natenom (43) has been killed by a 77 year old car driver while he was cycling on a road.
He was known for his efforts to raise political and authority awareness about the need for safe cycling infrastructure. Too often he was criticised and paternalised for this.

Yesterday morning, I pulled open my laptop to send a quick email. It had a frozen black screen, so I rebooted it, and… oh crap.
