@oversteer @marcoarment interesting, not having used Tahoe and based solely on the screenshot it took me a hot minute.

First I thought it was the tab with the ellipse; only next that one of the tabs; title had a slightly heavier font weight.

I have never been a fan of theses sorts of bubble tabs. IMO the active one should visually connect to some part of the window, either wraping around the content e.g. the original safari tabs or hanging from the title bar e.g. Sequoia finder iTerm2 etc.

@atpfm Fun! Are we also getting a 10 minute long infomercial intro about this in the next regular episode of ATP? You know, like you did for the tier lists a few weeks ago…

@overcastfm please make it so that episodes that download on-demand begin playback before the download completes. I am NOT asking for streaming.

- Start download
- Start playback asap
- If the download is interrupted, stop playback and mark the episode as “download failed”
- When redownloading an episode with a “download failed” message confirm to resume where it left off.

Even apps with perfect position syncing formats frequently have that sort of prompt.

Thanks

@overcastfm when I tap on a chapter in the new chapter sheet, it closes. It makes picking a chapter after I listen to a few seconds of a different chapter very awkward due to having to tap the tiny chapters button each time to repent.

In the old UI, you could jump around among the chapters to decide what to listen to and even seek without closingthe chapter list. It was much more friendly when the title of ATP chapters ATP may or may not seem interesting.

Can the sheet be made to not close?

@overcastfm I can no longer grab multiple episodes at once during a drag to reorder. Tapping on another episode during a drag either expands the second row or starts playing the second episode by bringing up the playing screen (if one-tap play is enabled).

Keep up the good work.

@overcastfm please add a list layout (and/or grid?) to the playlist section of the Home Screen. The current layout puts all playlists in the least reachable top area of the screen and requires multiple gestures to select or assess whether various lists have content available.

I rarely use the “podcasts” list that now dominates the Home Screen because I have invested heavily into managing my podcasts via your powerful playlist configurations.

Thank you for the good work and rapid turnaround

@overcastfm can we get back more swipe gestures than just delete on individual episodes. Manual downloading is kind of tedious now since I have to go to tap each episode, the submenu, then all the way down on the download item of the menu. I though in the past a single swipe to the right showed a download button for “streaming” episodes within a playlist.

Download, star, “read”, and delete all seem like they would be handy and consistent with other apps that manage collections of things.

@TheTiredHiker @finestructure ever tried to put a note on Jingle’s collar? Maybe you could wind up with a new pen pal.

@TechConnectify There definitely should be a live and let live attitude and there should be space for mastodon client developers to say this isn’t the client for you just as Trader Joes likely isn’t the grocery store for me.

Sorry about the lengthy reply (3/3)

@TechConnectify With software a lot of the time it isn’t that there are a lot of options as much as those options are poorly organized or “too accessible” which leads to choice overload. It’s a lot easier to have an ever expanding junk drawer of checkboxes and drop downs than it is to separate out and present those which are useful to the majority vs those for the users who enjoy a very “selective” experience. Apple is very good about doing this without most people even noticing. (2/3)
