During the week of the International Day of Women and Girls in Science, I was welcomed as a guest speaker in the Better Education for Women in Science and Engineering (BE WiSE) HerSTEM Journey virtual workshop, organized by San Diego’s Fleet Science Center.

Today, I had so much fun being a guest speaker for the Generation STEM Podcast, organized and hosted by the students of the Ciampini-Boccardo High School in Nova Ligure, Italy. Check their YouTube channel (only in 🇮🇹) https://bit.ly/4kwQ6DN

If you are at the Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics Annual Meeting (SIAM AN25) come see our MiniSymposia titled "Tacit Knowledge in Stable Compressible Flow Numerics" where I will also be giving an introductory talk.

Part I is MS70, this afternoon at 4 pm, and Part II is MS88, on Wednesday at 8 am, in the beautiful Montreal Convention Center.

Shout out today to parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, or anyone else who helps raise a kid.

It didn’t really click until I was a dad: without parents, human civilization ends.

Only with good parents does the future look bright.

So, give a nod to anyone putting in the work.

Our work (3+ years for me) on the dycore of @climatemachine 's proposed ESM was recently submitted to JAMES with great efforts from the entire team. It's currently open for feedback/public comments while it is under review

Happy to hear your thoughts!

Journey of Black Mathematicians is an excellent documentary series available this month on PBS. Highly recommended.

Journeys of Black Mathematicians

A two-part series portraying pioneers who expanded the presence of African Americans in mathematics.

Just presented at the 15th Symposium for Women and Gender Minorities in Mathematics in Southern California (WiMSoCal 2025) and seeing so many brave, passionate, strong women and underrepresented groups in the room that now need to face additional challenges in this shifting environment is so inspiring.

Please join us in the proposed MiniSymposium (MS) that I'm putting together with @jedbrown for the next SIAM AN25 meeting.

This session is focused on stabilization methods for compressible flow numerics, and would like to unveil some nitty-gritty details or tricks/fixers needed to stabilize code that people often do not mention in code documentation or in their papers.

For more information on the scope of the MS and if you would like to be a speaker in our proposed session, please contact me

December 9 is the deadline to submit technical papers to the PASC25 conference (pasc25.pasc-conference.org).
Authors of accepted papers are then invited to present at the conference and accepted papers will be published in the Proceedings of the PASC Conference.
Submit your cool work! 🚀
