Title: The potential for bike riding in Victoria: Using mixed methods to measure interest, barriers and enablers
Bio: Dr Lauren Pearson is a Research Fellow within the Sustainable Mobility and Safety Research Group in the School of Public Health & Preventive Medicine, Monash University. Lauren’s research works toward improving the accessibility and inclusivity of sustainable and active modes of travel, with a focus on bike riding. She is an emerging leader in her field, shining a light on gender inequities in bike riding, and the intersectional needs of women to increase equitable transport.
Summary: Three in four people in Greater Melbourne want to ride a bike, but what's stopping them? Join Dr Lauren Pearson as she unpacks a four year deep-dive research project about the barriers and enablers different groups of people experience for riding a bike, and what our best solutions are.
