So this is my exact experience and to some extent still lingers post-transition. I had no idea that was a trans thing. For me, it's a little religious and family trauma too, but it definitely has been a way I've suppressed the need for a sense of self in the past. So good to know I'm not alone, thanks for sharing

Wait I didn't know this was a common trans experience! I thought it had more to do with environmental factors when I was young

Yes! There are some artists that are better than others about not gendering the love interest, though. Taylor Swift is pretty bad about it while florence and the machine (as an example) is quite a bit better. My playlists are strongly influenced by this lol

In some cities where I'm from (northeast us) it's more like a mountain and causes a lot of rat issues. One of those crazy things that affects everyone yet seemingly just can't be changed??
