30 something, queer, trans, and entering my Mom era. Anti fascist but make it fashion. I begrudgingly do computer things for work and sometimes talk about it but I usually talk about gender and anarchy here.

This is the top headline on NY Times today. Sounds like they're worried walz isn't fascist enough.

@aud

We're all walking around keeping secrets about the catastrophic disasters we've seen on the inside of companies, because we're afraid that other companies won't hire us if we talk about them. If we all talked, a lot of those companies would just be gone.

It's a great example of how the structure can only exist because of the implicit threat of violence.

If any one of us does talk, then the violence becomes explicit, and they get destroyed as a warning to the rest of us. In this way, acts of individual defiance serve to reinforce the system, not challenge it.

Also, these same people are the people who were crying that the left needs to just unite under the Biden ticket so we have a chance at winning. Now, faced with a Harris ticket, that rhetoric has switched sides. It's now the NY Times types calling for unity and the rest saying "people just don't like her"
If we constantly hold the position that America needs to be "ready" for diverse leadership, it will never fucking happen. The people they're talking about needing to be "ready" are white people who don't want to confront their biases.
It's pretty wild to see the racism (and to a lesser extent misogony) on the left out in the open with the Kamala Harris bid. All of this talk like "say what you will, people just don't like her" is just a racist dogwhistle. Most of these people aren't talking about any actual policy stances.

I've been an engineer for a really long time and after transitioning I fucking hate it. I'm not even out and I pass most of the time, it's just pure misogyny on every front. I'm excluded from meetings, held to a higher standard, constantly infantilized, the whole 9 yards.

Prior to transition this was an area I felt I was at least doing half right. I was regularly celebrated for my work, could have professional conversations, etc. Not always, and still super uncomfy being in such a hellhole culturally, but it was one area where the world told me I fit in to an extent.

Fuck the patriarchy.

Is it just me or does this "lower the temperature" rhetoric just sound like a fear of class war? Like the ruling class is afraid the lower classes might turn their focus upwards rather than at each other as the ruling class prefers.
I can't wait to see what this battle box looks like. Like is it a cage match or????
You can tell how many apps were created by men because they take no issue with randomly and persistently interrupting you while you're minding your own business and asking you to rate them.
new drinking game: every time a company says "AI" throw a brick at a police car
