We, @spriebsch and @sebastian, have been frustrated watching great #PHP articles appear, get a moment of attention, and quietly disappear, while AI-generated fluff fills up search results.
This is why we launched PHP Reads: https://phpreads.com/
Every week, we hand-pick articles from across the PHP community that reward careful reading. No ads. No tracking. No vendor submissions. Just writing that actually deserves to be found.
It's free, and will stay free forever.

A couple weeks into my new job, and it's such a change from everywhere I've worked the last... bunch of years. It's not that I've hated my job recently or anything. But as I've settled into this role, I've discovered that for the first time in a long time, I'm having FUN at work.
It's a tiny team, the code is... a mess. It's ancient and outdated, and in dire need of refactoring and cleanup. And I'm having more fun working on it than I thought I could have at work.
Understanding my ADHD and being in the best mental state I've been in for many years is certainly helping things. But I also think that maybe I'm just better suited to the small scrappy team setup.
Mildly annoyed that the new laptop I purchased to use as my work station (I much prefer having a separation between my personal/play environment, and my work environment) appears to have an immediate hardware issue. I've got a support ticket open, but odds are I'm going to have to mail it back in for hardware replacement before I've really even been able to use it.
In related news, my new job is going very well. A week and a half in, and I like my boss, and I'm kicking butt at the work. Really looking forward to when I can actually have this laptop fully set up. Here's hoping whatever the problem is doesn't take too long to get resolved.
(Issue summary: Repeated crashes with 1,8 blink codes, which is the chipset running screaming into the hills because of a "catastrophic error" according to the manual.)
Day one of my new job: Survived.
Almost got my dev environment fully set up on my home computer. (I'll be repeating this process once my newly purchased laptop gets delivered, but that'll be 10 days or so.)
Hung out in a call all day with my boss, basically, getting a product tour, and working through the setup process. Hopefully soon I get to meet more of the team. Only one other dev right now, I believe, and then a handful of other staff. Really small shop, but they seem to have a good solid product, and be running a good shop.
Excited to start digging into some actual programming, hopefully tomorrow.
Well, it appears my job hunt has come to a conclusion. I'll officially be accepting the offer on Wednesday, after I've given a couple other places a chance to possibly respond, but I have an offer letter that I plan to accept.
This is a huge relief, and I managed to come through it without any significant hardship. I'll share more details once I've signed, but I'm very excited to get started.
