Time for a new #Introduction

I am a sociologist who studies social inequality and its dynamics across time and generations. Several current projects focus on wealth inequality and mobility.

Starting October 2023, I hold the Professorship for Social Inequality and Social Structures at the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München (LMU Munich).

I direct the Wealth and Mobility (WAM 💥 ) Study that will create a new public data infrastructure for the study of U.S. wealth.

New York Times Magazine featured CID Faculty Affiliate Davon Norris in their story, “The High Cost of Bad Credit.” He found Black respondents “feel their credit score exacts a significant psychological tax,” with higher levels of anxiety, stress and feelings that their score is a controlling factor in their life. White respondents, however, were largely unaffected by their credit scores. Learn more in the story:
