@wdlindsy https://www.axios.com/2024/02/27/price-food-us-inflation-data-groceries Actually, we're at a 30-year high right now at 11%, but go on and post to social media without data so people who already know you can blindly agree with you and vilify people like me who read something and say, "Oh, that's interesting. I wonder where I can find source data to support that?" and then go looking only to find this is utter nonsense.
It's been more than 30 years since food ate up this much of Americans' income

The data could help explain why Americans feel badly about the economy.

@itsfoss I can spend 30 minutes and get windows setup and running the way I want, and get up to full functionality in about 3 hours. I will then have to spend 1-3 hours /mo fixing it. It takes me 5 hours to get Linux setup the way I want and then I spend 1-4 hours/yr fixing it. It also runs 20C cooler on average in Linux.

FreeBSD levels up with €686,400 in funding. 🔥

This is the best explanation of hyperfocus in #ADHD I have ever seen. Someone give this guy a medal. And Oscar. Something.

@dreadfulsanity I didn't realize I had ADHD until last year (in my late 30s). I've already had a successful career, family, ect. and I realized that most of that can be attributed to metacognition--or being aware of your own thoughts. I suspect this is easier to do with ADHD brains given the sheer breadth of thought we have to manage daily. If you pay attention and feed the thoughts you believe to be helpful bit by bit, you can direct the hyperfocus topic of fixation and guess timing better
@achurch It helps to know the German meaning for "Eigen." It means "self" "my own" or refers to an self-view or identity. Depending on context, it is a prefix that can mean "proper" or "unique"
An eigenvector is a unique identifier. It's the ID card of a mathematical system. What's cool about it is that two systems can look very different, but share an eigenvector and eigenvalue. It means that any differences between those two systems are not mathematically important.
if you want new ideas, read old code.
@nixCraft I think it's time to create the CentOS+ distro where we use ye ol' GPL to get back access to the code and then have a 100% separate entity manage it.
