I'm always open to answering questions, so just ask!

I've worked in the world of computing since I started a business accidentally at 16 and gosh that was a long time ago. Born in the early 80s.

Your cunt-ry needs you! Our crowdfunding campaign to find a new home is growing! We need your help to go all the way - please donate if you can and share, share, share! https://www.gofundme.com/f/9um7y
I'm going to experiment a bit with using @tim as my main account for a bit. I'm not doing the official account move thing yet but I copied all of my follows over. Feel free to follow me back or not, of course. And I'm not sure if it'll be durable or not. Identity is hard.

I should stop social media'ing and walk the dogs and go to bed.

Good night and take care of yourselves, people and robots!

No, Venmo, no, I do not wish for your "convenient" instant transfer. I do not, in fact, wish to give you extra money after the fees you've already taken. Thanks so much for offering, though!
Hmm. What will happen to "sign in with Google" logins if I move a domain from one Google Workspace account to another? I'm just asking for pain, aren't I?

Random reminder: The Union Place is operated by Labor Union Networking, Inc., a US 501(c)3 non-profit. Your donations are what keeps us going - our expenses are in the range of $500/month and we tend to take in less than half of that from sources-who-are-not-me.

Any support you can give us, especially if it's on a monthly basis, even if it's only a dollar or two per month, would be greatly appreciated.

Anyone have any recommendations for simple web hosts with decent template/building tools that still let you edit the code, without charging an arm and a leg?

Am I asking for a unicorn? This doesn't seem like it should be a unicorn.

Computers: how do they even work?

Oh right, they don't.

Watching Sprocket (our older dog) get old is hard. Lots of staring off into space, slower moment days, etc. We do our best to keep giving him his best life though.
Heck I'm not always comfortable walking into my own unfinished house when no one is around since a) it's not actually mine yet and b) the contract explicitly says we can't do that. But that's really just for liability reasons, I'm pretty sure.
