No prior job experience unfortunately, all those 15 years were mostly personal projects and small-scale stuff for friends. System Administration: Week 10: Backups, Part II
In this video, we illustrate how to perform backups using tar(1), dump(8) and restore(8), and rsync(1), both locally and to a remote system.
After a sudden reorganization, your team has just inherited a legacy Docker image with no docs.
The container starts, but no ports are exposed and the logs are unhelpful.
Right now, the application running inside the container is completely inaccessible.
At first, this feels like a quick fix… until you hit the constraints:
- Distroless image
- Rootless Docker setup
- No sudo access
Can you find and expose the port?
Runbooks should be airplane safety cards, not 200-page manuals ✈️
In an incident, nobody wants theory.
They want the next safe step.
