Happy #IndigenousPeoplesDay to my fellow American immigrants, and to the folks who were here first!

@AnneTheWriter1 love this. It's always bizarre when free speech folks wanna tell people what language to use
@wardi Thanks! and great point. I guess it's true that the term antisemitism is used exclusively for Jewish people, and I fully agree with that last part too. Nations shouldnt be exempt from accountability on the basis of ethnicity. That's the usual point I try to make but I was thinking I had found a second one. Thanks for letting me know that antisemitism doesn't just mean anti Jewish colloquially but by definition as well, tho I find it odd that you guys are excluded from that definition
Anti-Isreal =/= antisemitic. Palestinians are semitic, too.

OK I lowkey dissed Johnson in that post, but he kinda snapped here.

Longform sociological rant below lol

I really need to read the instalments in the series between 1984 and 1989, the tonal shift between Orwell and Swift’s works makes understanding the plot hard
@benjancewicz Twitter is a goddamn tragedy lmao
I hate when I'm writing a paper and I paraphrase something so fucking brilliantly that I honestly give new insight into a thing that the original author only barely managed to convey, and then I still have to say "(Johnson, 1997)"
As critical as I am of Fight Club (both the actual texts and their misinterpretations), "you met me at a very strange time in my life" is such a fucking mood.
