This is ridiculous and confusing regardless of the context.

@holly_cummins It's kind of sad

@scottsantens It's not directly about UBI but I think you may find this interesting. It touches on number of different but very connected subjects and provides solutions. Which in turn may even make UBI not necessary, as it could cure the cause rather than treating the symptoms. Have a watch and see what you think: https://yewtu.be/watch?v=QXY5Z-w_Ul4

Interesting. I agree that the goal of profit may be problematic. Got few questions as I'm not very familiar with agriculture and how it works. How bringing down the price harms the market? Where are those food mountains?

@AlexanderKingsbury It's possible. It's also possible to break down all of those systems into it's basic elements, look at how they work, look at correlations and causality - with that I think we could find out what it is exactly before we start fixing it. Not a small task but I think throwing random solutions at an umbrella term (capitalism) may just be less effective.
@rauder @simon_brooke @FantasticalEconomics I think this is a fair point, 'capitalism' seem to be an umbrella term (used for convenience?). There are more basic elements of it that seem to go against human well-being and against humans in general. I'm trying to look at this from first principles approach and I think we all could benefit from this. Taking a step back and trying to examine it as if we were alien scientists (outsider perspective) - it's a lot to examine and may take some time.
