How good is this? It's the first family workstation in a Canadian academic library (https://gerstein.library.utoronto.ca/visit/spaces/family-workstation). The parent can work at the desk, and the infant can work in the contained area.

Or, if the research starts going very badly, they can swap.

@holly_cummins I wonder if using your baby as a rubber ducky will subconsciously affect them positively or negatively

@glorp @holly_cummins

"no daddy, you need an ellipse there"

@holly_cummins would have loved to have one. Great idea.

@holly_cummins

Looks like a great accessory for pair programming

@holly_cummins

Distracted much?

I would have never gotten any work done if I had to entertain the young, impressionable sponge all day long.

This isn't going to work on a large scale.

@holly_cummins We have a couple of those in our local library! They're pretty cool, but sadly our five-year-old is too big to be entertained (or contained😂 ) by them
@holly_cummins I take the one on the right side

I agree that infants should be imprisoned in the Cubicle of Woe. They are evil and deserve this treatment.
@GustavinoBevilacqua
@holly_cummins looks like someone without kids had this brilliant idea. I would love to see a kid sit in that more than 20 mins when it sees all the library stuff around it
@holly_cummins or is this dystopian? "You had your baby now get back to work"
@holly_cummins "Your child can learn the joys of cubicle life as early as possible!"
@holly_cummins cool idea, but plenty rough edges around the kit. Better round them up, to not injure the kids.
@holly_cummins This looks like a good idea and may work for some. My children were incompatible with such efforts and needed active attention. The tool that worked for me was daycare.
