Iran war energy crisis is a renewable energy wake-up call

The Iran war is exposing how much the global economy still depends on fragile fossil fuel supplies. The conflict has virtually choked off the Strait of Hormuz, a vital shipping lane for a fifth of the world’s oil and liquefied natural gas. That's shaking up markets and pushing prices higher. Countries reliant on imported fossil fuels — from wealthy industrial economies to poorer developing nations — are facing major disruptions that can quickly ripple through utility bills, food prices, transport costs and electrical grids. Analysts say the crisis is a stark reminder that energy security is not just about stockpiles and shipping, but also about the lagging transition to renewable energy.

The Trump regime detained Leqaa Kordia, a young woman from New Jersey, for an entire year for using her constitutional right to protest Israel's genocide in Gaza.

At a hearing Friday, the judge said "I’ve heard testimony. I’ve seen thousands of pages of evidence presented by the respondent, and very little evidence presented by the government in any of this."

Monday she was released.

During the 2024 election, Russian intelligence secretly worked with an agent, Alexander Smirnov, who planted false information with the FBI, claiming Joe Biden had corrupt ties to Ukraine.

The FBI figured out Smirnov was lying, and he was sentenced to 6 years in prison.

Now Trump’s Justice Department is helping Smirnov get a retrial, which would then allow Trump to get the case dismissed.
