@cazabon Out of curiosity, how much were you thinking?
Edit: and by curiosity, I mean I’d love to get it if I can swing it 😂
@cazabon a4000 + video toaster is the dream 🥺 You’re very lucky to still have yours!
But probably way out of my budget. I was thinking a few hundred. I haven’t seen a4000s that cheap in over 15 years, if ever. Especially bundled with a Toaster, haha.
Long Shot: Does anyone in New England want to sell a reasonably (not eBay) priced #SGI workstation or #Amiga ?
I’ve wanted one for years for nostalgia + experimentation. Should’ve picked one up back when they were affordable, but life was too busy.
I’m a user/collector — not a reseller — if that makes a difference :)
(I live in Central #Maine)
The snow was above these garden beds. Now that it’s melted (temporarily) I can see what needs to be done again and get back to planning homestead projects.
I want to grow more food to offset going freelance. It’s expensive in Maine!
Things I’d love to do this year:
- get a bunch of hemlock boards to build more above-ground garden beds (better in Northern climates)
- get a hoop house (large greenhouse)
- build a farm stand
Going to need to make $$$ or barter.

@adamw @SNThrailkill oh, that is cool! I worked very close with the old CoreOS folk when I was working on Quay. I think you just gave me a weekend project to explore and maybe write about :) Thank you for clarifying!
I also love the idea of running containers on bare metal as little appliances. I was considering doing that with micro VMs (eg Firecracker).
All wonderful suggestions!
