The snow was above these garden beds. Now that it’s melted (temporarily) I can see what needs to be done again and get back to planning homestead projects.

I want to grow more food to offset going freelance. It’s expensive in Maine!

Things I’d love to do this year:
- get a bunch of hemlock boards to build more above-ground garden beds (better in Northern climates)
- get a hoop house (large greenhouse)
- build a farm stand

Going to need to make $$$ or barter.

We hit a beautiful 68°F in central Maine today. It was surreal experiencing warm breezes while being surrounded by snow and ice.

Escaped the house to work on a client’s app at the local coffee shop. It’s crazy how much easier it is to focus there.

II’m pretty happy about this #StudioGhibli tattoo I just got yesterday.

I recently got #fidium fiber internet at home. The initial install was done with their modem (fiber terminator?) and one of their ā€œpodsā€ (router + WiFi access point). Anyways, I had immediately switched to my #unifi #edgerouter4 by spoofing the MAC address of their router and it worked great. Then I finally got my refurbished #protectli in the mail with all 2.5gbps Ethernet ports and set it up with #opnsense. Unfortunately, MAC address spoofing didn’t work. It took 1 hour on the phone to fix 😵

I finally pulled the trigger on buying an older riding lawn mower. But I got way overexcited by how well it was chopping through our overgrown yard and started taking it down into the forest. Apparently it has a lot more traction going downhill than uphill.

Luckily the previous owner showed me the "push it out when it gets stuck" switch so I was able to pull it out (gently!) with the tractor.

I would do this kind of stuff full time if it paid the bills 😁

I've spread some of the loam. The tractor likes to spin its tires in the clay which makes leveling it with only the loam a bit difficult; it needs more organic matter or something better for drainage mixed it. The space is really starting to come together though! #homestead #garden #progresspictures
