II’m pretty happy about this #StudioGhibli tattoo I just got yesterday.
I’m going to have some time on my hands soon while building my business. I figured I’ll finally get around to sharing knowledge and doing deep dives. What’s everyone’s preferred medium — blog/written, video/youtube, or some other option?
Part of this is to give back but the other part is totally selfish marketing 😂. Unfortunately resumes are useless these days; and clients for consulting/freelance rarely care about them.
It’s official — I’m going back to indie and fractional dev work while I build my own stuff (and keep the homestead growing). Web apps, DevOps/SRE, and whatever else needs fixing. $150/hr for retainers and consulting. I have these little Lenovo tiny computers and they keep going unresponsive intermittently. I’m running ProxMox on them as a cluster. The first machine kept dying due to using all RAM available with “ballooning” enabled for a Mincraft VM. The new one to randomly stop responding has a different (weaker) PSU that the eBay seller sent. Any thoughts? Is this normal for these machines? The temperatures seem fine and CPU is barely used. #homelab #selfhosted #proxmox #linux

I recently got #fidium fiber internet at home. The initial install was done with their modem (fiber terminator?) and one of their “pods” (router + WiFi access point). Anyways, I had immediately switched to my #unifi #edgerouter4 by spoofing the MAC address of their router and it worked great. Then I finally got my refurbished #protectli in the mail with all 2.5gbps Ethernet ports and set it up with #opnsense. Unfortunately, MAC address spoofing didn’t work. It took 1 hour on the phone to fix 😵
