Interesting info on Shopify and the latest rubygems controversy. To me, the most interesting bit is how Tobi is the primary driver of Ruby adoption (to the dissatisfaction of some staff), which makes Ruby even more tenuous than Iād previously thought, and thus more dependent on Rails. Dear Rubyists: Shopify Isnāt Your Enemy
Iāve been meaning to write a post about my perspective on Open Source and corporate entities. I already got the rough outline of it; however, Iām suffering from writerās block, but more importantly, the whole post is a praise of how Shopify engages with Open Source communities. Hence, given the current climate, I donāt think I could publish it without addressing the elephant in the room first anyway.

@openvibe RSS support is great and all but is it really necessary to push a notification about it, a few times a week? After the 10th notification about it, I get it, you support RSSā¦ š°

Also, why is search buried in the āFollowingā tab?
And your comment about politics is very on point. I donāt mind the odd thing but it sure does feature that content prominently, even though Iāve never given it a reason to do so.
Thereās hints of a great app here, which is why I turn to it every day. They just need to build a better experience.
@davetron5000 Iām not disputing this (I agree!) but I am curious what youāre bothered by the most.

The more I roll it around in my mouth, the more certain I am that the "AI" mania *perfectly* encapsulates neoliberalism in its entirety. - doesn't work and never has - steals everything around it - produces nothing of value - destroys all things with actual value - lies - creates the illusion of efficiency while vastly increasing both monetary and social costs - is supported by militant zealots with tiny minds and hearts - enriches a tiny group of individuals at the cost of destroying Earth
