Hello friends. As is traditional, here is my #introduction on this new account/instance. I used to run a personal instance a few months back that started in 2019, but a bad transfer ended that. Decide to breakup with #Mastodon and try hosting a #pleroma instance this time around.

A bit about me, I'm into #skateboarding, #art, #pixelart, #cnc, #woodworking, #linux, #videogames, and other nerdery. I like my #coffee like I like my #metal, black.

Not especially a fan of political discourse. Mostly here to share on my current projects and interests as well as see all the cool stuff everyone else is doing.

Boosts appreciated! Looking to find new people to follow πŸ’‹

Virtualbox has an option to enable 3d acceleration. Perhaps you can try this: https://www.maketecheasier.com/enable-3d-acceleration-in-virtualbox/
How To Enable 3D Acceleration In VirtualBox - Make Tech Easier

Virtualbox is an excellent application to have if you’re looking to try out new operating systems and/or are generally interested in virtualisation for the many benefits it offers. Yeah, no problem. From what I gather, the PCI pass through method is getting GREAT performance, like near native to bare metal. I've considered it to so I don't have to reboot to play games :D

Depends on what your goal is on Windows. If your needs are basic and don't need 3d acceleration, you can run it in something like virtualbox and use seamless mode to keep it out of your way. If you need 3d acceleration, you can do some cool stuff with a dedicated video card and libvirt with PCI pass through: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/PCI_passthrough_via_OVMF

I used to get into this...but now managing hardware is literally the worst part of my job. If I could have it my way, the only hardware available would for VM infrastructure.
Saw a turkey at a fall festival today and couldn't help but think about the correlation between dinosaurs and birds. Seriously large bird here with very dinosaur looking feet.
