Matrix v1.18 release

Matrix, the open protocol for secure decentralised communications

I merged this feature which I was sitting on for a while!

We had these placeholder avatars in-app, but they weren't rendered in notifications for *reasons*. I find it jarring and hard to follow when there's just no avatars in the notification, so that's finally fixed.

(This works for both the room and user parts.)

Low-key fed up of people blowing the #systemd changes drastically out of proportion.
Qt 6.11 Released!

Update to Qt 6.11 to improve your app performance, render graphics with new techniques, connect easier, and take a new approach to asynchronous C++ coding.

like it's great we are all discussing, but 95% of the comments are based on wrong assumption and misinformation and then we also get legal hot takes from people that ain't lawyers and just misunderstand law.

Great

Really great

maybe we all should touch some grass for a while

but also "why does this have to be rushed?" you clearly never had to ship a product. Having less than a year is _not much time_. It's very little time. And I fully understand why people want at least bits and pieces in place, so they won't have to risk "yeah well.. can't ship shit for a year, because I waited until December"

and I want to be clear here: your alternative of not complying also means "haha get rekt sucker and starve" so what's your response to this?

Like genuinely, what's a viable alternative people have here whose income relies on all of this.

Sure I could be a purist and say "yeah man this all sucks, don't do it!" but that also means throwing marginalized people under the bus who are now left on their own.

And complying could also mean the same.
