@r000t - I just went up to one of the librarians and said the following:
"Hey, I've been noticing in the news lately that a lot of libraries have been coming under attack. I don't know if we have that problem here, but if we do or if it ever comes our way, I'd be more than happy to stand up at a meeting and defend the library. I love what you all do and I don't like the idea of banning books. Here's my info (name, email, phone number). You're welcome to call, text, or email me any time you need someone to come and speak up on y'all's behalf."
They said thanks.
And then two months later I got an email that said there was going to be a public meeting with comments from the public and they expected folks to come through and attack LGBTQIA+ books. So I and several friends that I let know about it went to the public meeting and gave comments supporting the library and the existence of LGBTQIA+ books!
