A place to learn cool tips (and tricks) about #Mastodon and https://djs.social.
Make sure you read the instance rules. They are located at https://djs.social/about/more 🌈
djs.social

djs.social is a social network by DJs for DJs. It's like Twitter...but without the BS. The community centers around DJs and DJing. We are non-profit so you can be sure you data will always remain yours and will never be sold to anyone. The site is actively moderated so we keep the trolls at bay.

Looking for other members of this instance? There is a directory (https://djs.social/explore) but users need to opt-in in order to be listed there.

Highlights from v2.7.2:

The error page elephant animation is now hover-to-play

The conversations column now always displays the list of other participants in the conversation, instead of the most recent one

Unicode in URLs and quotations around them get turned into links the expected way now

New checks guard the ActivityPub inbox against storing deliveries that nobody asked for

And many other fixes

To mention a user on your instance you only need to @ the username. To mention a user on another instance you need to @ their full address (their username AND their instance name).

Protip: If you right click on a user and choose 'mention...' it will do the right thing for you.

You can follow people by pressing the follow button on their profile (top right in the web UI). Finding people is usually done by already knowing the person's account details or by finding them in the federated or timeline if you like their posts.

You can also use the search box in the top left on the web UI.

You can also look at the accounts that you already follow and check their followers out.

Everyone please welcome our new moderators @astromech and @Django they will help @damien with moderation duties moving forward. Thanks for the help you guys!
Don't want promos in your feed? You can use filters (https://djs.social/filters/new) to filter out any posts with the hashtag #promo 🌈 #themoreyouknow 🌈
