Weather service: We don't get hurricanes in the California Bay Area. Our ocean is peaceful! That's why we call it the Pacific! I love you lil bro!🤗

Also weather service: Warning citizen! Prepare for the hurricane shaped storm that will drop hurricane amounts of rain, and knock your trees over with hurricane force winds! But it's not a hurricane! Never call it a hurricane! We call it either a Pineapple Express, or a Unicorn Sprinkle, or a Gumdrop Hug! Pick up sand bags instead of weed today!🦄🌼☮️✌🏻

I and my employers, #1Password, have never directly criticized a competitor before. But #LastPass's claim that it would take "millions of years" to crack the data made available from the breach needed to be addressed explicitly.

I also take the opportunity to explain why 1Password's distinct security architecture would keep users safe if we were to be breached.

Not in a million years: It can take far less to crack a LastPass password | 1Password

How 1Password goes above and beyond to protect you in the event of a data breach.

This is a very enlightening examination of how broken capitalism is (and how to fix it), presented in a really interesting way.

Why some mathematicians argue the economy is designed to create a few super rich people – unless we stop it.

The New York Times has editorialized angrily against forced arbitration -- a system designed to protect companies from accountability.

So guess what I found in my inbox this morning. Yes! Subscribers to the NY Times must now submit to forced arbitration if there's a dispute:

He talked about electric cars. I don't know anything about cars, so when people said he was a genius I figured he must be a genius.

Then he talked about rockets. I don't know anything about rockets, so when people said he was a genius I figured he must be a genius.

Now he talks about software. I happen to know a lot about software & Elon Musk is saying the stupidest shit I've ever heard anyone say, so when people say he's a genius I figure I should stay the hell away from his cars and rockets.

Pour one out for all of the security practitioners who are going to have to spend the holidays patiently explaining that using a password manager is still good, actually, to people who have glanced at a headline about the latest LastPass breach.

Hey @auschwitzmuseum I'm so glad you're also here on Mastodon.

Hey everyone, please follow them. History may not be forgotten for it must not repeat.

SwiftUI is looking for interns!

FAQ:

* Both a frameworks internship (writing Swift) and a compiler internship (also writing C++) are available
* Unfortunately not remote friendly, but housing is provided
* Paid (I don't have exact numbers but I've heard it's typical FAANG internship rates)
* I can vouch for the hiring manager not being an asshole
* Usually 3 months starting in the spring but timing can be negotiated
