I‘m remembering my friend @uliwitness today, who died last November.

He was a wonderful friend, a community builder, a musician, and an incredibly talented developer. He also laughed the hardest at my really bad jokes, which made me love him even more. I’ll miss you a lot Uli!

TIL iOS has hidden support for custom animated wallpapers and this is probably the coolest thing I’ve done to my iPhone in years

protip for working with an agent: you can ask it to produce .mermaid diagrams for your code and then you can use @timac’s MarkChart.app to see what's game.

From loss to launch: Three years of surviving and building as an indie dev | Atterdag Apps

Three years ago I quit my job to go indie. This is the story of what happened — the highs, the failures, the unexpected moments, the financial realities, and the apps that shaped my life.

Today I am stepping down from my role as the CEO of #Mastodon. Though this has been in the works for a while, I can't say I've fully processed how I feel about it. There is a bittersweet part to it, and I think I will miss it, but it also felt necessary. It feels like a goodbye, but it isn't—I intend to stay on and continue to advise the new leadership and contribute, because Mastodon—and the fediverse—is one of the very few beacons of hope for a better web.

Five years ago, today, a TikTok video changed my life.

While Widgetsmith launched on Sep 16, 2020, it wasn't until the 18th when it had its viral moment on TikTok and meteoric rise to the top of the App Store.

I wanted to observe the occasion with a little retrospective of my memories from that day and the journey to it.

Little did I know then that my professional life would become helping millions of people make their home screens “Aesthetic AF”.
