Today is Global Accessibility Awareness Day - Which is why Art of Fauna got* a special update with better large type support! Instead of trapping the text in the card, it's shown below for larger text sizes. 🦾

(*Its still waiting for review)

#GAAD #a11y

Last year during #GAAD, Apple Interviewed me about accessibility and put my face on the front page of the App Store! (Link to the interview below) 🦾

At the time, I was at ioskonwf, and Daniel Steinberg decided to start the day with a shoutout about this.

I still reeeeally cherish this moment and am so grateful to be part of such a lovely community 🫶

I finally discovered "Art of Flora" by @klemensstrasser and how did I miss this? It's such a good "break time" kinda game. Low stakes, beautiful artwork, customization for how much sound I want. *This* is the kind of game I am happy to pay for. Thank you for this.

And as we were in Italy, me and my now fiancé sat down to celebrate with a drink. And this is how this picture happened.

Thanks for reading 🫶

In 2015, I won the student Apple Design Award with Elementary Minute. But the student ADA was never held to the same standards as the regular one. But back then, this same Apple Partnership Manager told me "One day, you are going to win the real thing".

And now, 10 years later, right before this person was about to retire - They told me that I have really won the *real thing*. You always dream about things like this to happen, but its insane when they really do.

And then I got a second call. Again, it was my Apple Partnership Manager. And they said:

"I was wrong there with the category. You are not a finalist in Inclusivity. You are a finalist in Social Impact".

And then they paused.

"But you've won in Inclusivity".

And I can't even find words to describe how that felt. Two nominations, one win for Art of Fauna. And to understand this fully, you have to know more context.

When they hung up, I was left excited, but also disappointed. I knew the drill because it was actually my third time being a finalist in Inclusivity. I was one in 2022 and 2023 with my games "Letter Rooms" and "Ancient Board Game Collection" respectively.

And Art of Fauna was objectively my best shot yet. I felt like if this is not going to win an ADA, nothing out of my feather ever will. So for then next 10 minutes, I was more disappointed than I probably should have been.

Story time about the emotional rollercoaster called the Apple Design Awards! 🏆

Exactly one year ago, I was in Italy when I got a call from my Apple Partnership Manager. They told me:

"You know the drill. Art of Fauna is a finalist for the Apple Design Award in Inclusivity. But unfortunately again, it did NOT WIN."

Art of Fauna & Art of Flora: Cozy Puzzles on Instagram: "Art of Flora is now part of a real museum exhibition - here is how it happened! The Universalmuseum Joanneum (@universalmuseum_joanneum ) in Graz announced “Bloom” as their yearly topic, and I happened to be right in the middle of developing Art of Flora, my cozy puzzle game about historical plant illustrations. I reached out, we met, and together we created a special puzzle package for their exhibition in the Natural History Museum. Visitors can play it on an iPad right in the exhibition and scan a QR code to take all 24 puzzles home for free. If you’re in Graz, the exhibition is open until September 2027! #indiedev #nature #cozygaming #museum #artofflora"
