Looking forward to seeing y’all there!

Social battery: empty. Enthusiasm: 100%+. For me that means it was a great event!
Two things (amongst others) I was excited to discuss and learn about at Barcamp Open Science in Berlin: attributing (agentic) AI in research, and building bottom up research data infrastructure resilient against ideological influence, funding precarity, and the pressures of AI technology.
Thanks to the organisers for providing this space for discussion and exchange! πŸ™

In our latest blog post, a biochemistry PhD shares how RSpace templates and forms improved their research documentation through structured entries, faster documentation, searchable records across 3 years of PhD work.

Their templates are now available in a new community template repository along with other examples for documents, inventory items and vocabularies for use in real research workflows.

πŸ‘ A great start to #HMCConference2026 in Heidelberg

Today begins with a series of pre-conference workshops at @DKFZ bringing together participants for hands-on sessions, lively discussions, and collaborative exchange.

From FAIR Digital Objects to semantic technologies and metadata quality, the focus is clearly on how metadata is put into action in research.

It’s great to see the first ideas and conversations already taking shape.

So exciting to see this new playbook out in the world! It was a pleasure working with Tilo and the RSpace project during last year's pilot of the Birdaro Training Program for open source. Congrats on the launch!!

Thanks everyone for joining our open source office hour last week. The next one takes place next month on June 17th at 3pm (CEST). If you'd like to showcase or discuss anything particular, let us know! Looking forward to seeing you there: https://buff.ly/ZCE3V8j
