We combine our signature training sessions with “office hours” sessions intended to support participants in putting what they’ve learned into action in their communities or community-engaged projects.
Again if this is something you’re interested in learning about, please contact info [at] cscce [dot] org.
Like PMB, we have offered CEF as private cohorts (and we still can, if you’re interested!). But more recently, we’ve also been refining a “mini-CEF” offering for clients.
This 6-session training (with one session per week), involves an applied exploration of the CSCCE Community Participation Model: https://www.cscce.org/resources/cpm/
Our other training cohort that’s about to get started is our long-standing foundational training in community engagement for STEM community managers: https://www.cscce.org/trainings/cef/
We’re excited to get to know our new cohort at a social hour later this week, then next week we’ll start discussing the meaning of “community” and the various ways community engagement supports the STEM ecosystem.
This will also be our third private cohort of the course (and the first of several on the schedule for 2026), which lends itself to supporting connection amongst peer networks. You can find out more about PMB here: https://www.cscce.org/trainings/project-management-for-scientists/
And if you’re interested in a private cohort for your team, community, organization, or department, let us know by sending an email to info [at] cscce [dot] org. You can also find a one-page PDF info sheet for easy download here: https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.18390917
PMB is a seven-session online intensive that offers a grounding in the basics of project management, tailored to apply to specific STEM contexts and with a strong emphasis on the interpersonal considerations that support successful collaborative work.
We developed the training at the end of 2024, and ran two sold-out cohorts last year. PMB will be available to individual learners again later this year - let us know if you’re interested using this form: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSespB7f8Hzp0qJXLGvuoGghlWwmDXAytLQMKdcfpiaPVG08wQ/viewform?usp=header

We're in the process of determining interest in the multi-week courses that CSCCE could offer in 2026. These may include Community Engagement Fundamentals (CEF), Content Design (CODE), Creating Community Playbooks (PBK), Nurturing Online Communities (NOC), and the Project Management for Scientists Bootcamp (PMB). We may also host a new course on Communities of Practice (CoP). To aid us in our planning, and ensure that we our offering opportunities that match your needs and availability, please use this brief form to let us know if you are interested in participating, and if so, when. You will have an opportunity to tell us about any financial or scheduling constraints via the form, including making a request for financial aid. Note that this form only includes questions about CSCCE's multi-week courses. Please use the Mini-workshop interest form to register your interest in CSCCE's Mini-workshops. If you have any feedback for us that you are unable to communicate using this form, you can email us at [email protected]. Thank you!
On Wednesday this week, we’re hosting a community book club, facilitated by community member (and recently CSCCE-certified community manager!) Jody Peters: https://www.cscce.org/2026/02/10/cscce-community-book-club-the-five-dysfunctions-of-a-team/
If you’ve read the book, you can still sign up for the session: https://www.zeffy.com/en-US/ticketing/cscce-book-club-the-five-dysfunctions-of-a-team-by-patrick-lencioni
This is the first of several private PMB cohorts happening “behind-the-scenes” at CSCCE this year - and if you’re interested in learning more about doing something like this for your team, department, or community, let us know!
